Star light, star bright

Now that Moa is getting closer and closer to 13, his bathroom habits are getting more and more needy. So while Mike finished cooking dinner, I took Moa on one of his hourly walks. Luckily we've been having 70+ weather, so we were not in a hurry like when it's cold. We were headed back towards the house when I looked up and saw a shooting star go right over our house. I was so excited, it's the first shooting star I've ever seen!!!

As many of you know, I read too much into everything. So obviously I saw my shooting star as a sign. I know it's really just a meteor shooting through the sky, but I choose to believe it means something else. The star did two things for me last night, it gave me a chance to send up a much desired wish and also gave me hope, something we could all use a reminder of from time to time.

Or it could have been our other theory......it was Santa Claus checking his naughty and nice list. We know he went over the house, but more importantly, which list are we on?

Not really related, but it's something I want to share. Yesterday on the way to work, one of the local radio stations was doing their annual Breaking and Entering Christmas. They break into a needy family's home and leave them enough gifts, food, and necessities for an army. The family of 6 with one on the way was doing fine, until the 5 year old girl was diagnosed with cancer. She is currently going through her 2nd round with this dreadful disease, and obviously it's putting a financial and emotional drain on the family. When the kids were asked for the letters to Santa, all they asked for was for their little sister to get well. Of course I was boo hooing most of the way to work, especially when they were going through all of the stuff that was donated. One restaurant gave them free meals for a year (unlimited). That is just truly amazing, but not as amazing as these siblings. It helped me remember that Christmas is not always about the things you want, but the things you need.....our family, friends, and helping others. To the big man last night, thanks for the reminder last night :-) (and I don't mean Santa Claus).
